Bespoke Saunas, Designed for Real Heat
A sauna should give soft, enveloping heat and rich löyly, not harsh dry air and hot shoulders with cold feet. That comes down to design: the right heater for the room volume, bench heights that put you in the heat, ventilation that keeps the air fresh, and timber that stays comfortable to touch. Aqua Spazio designs and installs bespoke saunas for homes, gardens and commercial wellness spaces across the UK.

Types of sauna we build
-
Traditional Finnish sauna: 80–100°C with water on the stones for löyly. The classic, and the one most people fall in love with.
-
Aufguss sauna: a larger, taller room designed for ceremonial heat sessions with towel-led airflow.
-
Infrared sauna: a gentler, lower-temperature option at around 45–60°C, quick to heat and economical to run.
-
Garden sauna cabins: freestanding outdoor saunas, often paired with a cold plunge or outdoor shower.
-
Combination rooms: traditional heaters with integrated infrared panels for flexibility.
The details that make a sauna feel right
-
Heater sizing: matched to room volume, glazing and wall construction, so the room heats evenly and recovers quickly.
-
Bench layout: upper benches set high enough that bathers sit in the heat, with room for lying down.
-
Ventilation: fresh-air inlet and extract positioned to keep the air breathable without losing heat.
-
Timber: species chosen for comfort and stability, such as thermo-aspen, alder, hemlock or cedar.
-
Lighting and glass: warm, low-glare lighting and glazing that opens the room without draining heat.
Home and commercial saunas
For homes, we fit saunas into bathrooms, basements, pool halls and gardens. For hotels, gyms and wellness centres, we specify commercial continuous-duty heaters, durable finishes and safety features designed for heavy daily use.
Frequently asked questions
How much space does a home sauna need?
A two-person sauna can fit into a surprisingly small footprint, while a family or social sauna needs more length for benches. Send us your dimensions and we'll suggest what fits.
Traditional or infrared: which is better?
Traditional saunas give higher heat and löyly, which most enthusiasts prefer. Infrared works at lower temperatures and suits people who find high heat uncomfortable. We can combine both in one room.
What electrical supply does a sauna need?
Most traditional heaters need a dedicated supply, and larger heaters need three-phase power. We check your supply at design stage.
Can a sauna go in a garden?
Yes. Garden saunas need a suitable base, weatherproof construction and a power supply. Many clients add a cold plunge alongside.
