SPA, SAUNA & STEAM BY AQUA SPAZIO

Designed by Italian architect Claudio Silvestrin and installed in the basement of a Hampstead house, this sauna and steam combination is made of Aspen wood and Italian Dolomite stone. Both the steam and sauna are controlled by similar looking touchscreens and the shower in the middle is shared by the adjoining swimming pool.

The project brief from the designers of this minimalistic contemporary home was for the sauna to follow the straight lines of the pool and associated facilities, and that was achieved by having a black sauna shell clad in aspen slats and a matching basic bench.

This travertine-clad hammam is fairly simple in layout and apart from the 15kW commercial steam generator, it is made entirely out of commonly available materials. This is a classic example of 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'.

This spa is a contrast to the large slate-tiled swimming pool and is in its own separate corner next to a picture window. The materials selection was based on the premise of keeping a clean modern look whilst retaining the rural look of the property.

As the customers were very keen to show off a specialist plaster finish in the whole pool/spa/sauna area, we decided to keep the wall in plaster and put the benches on the other two walls. The sauna heater stones match the feature wall finish and soft lighting finishes the look.

We designed and installed the spa in the basement with a neck massager and bespoke lighting so that, even without any windows, the finished article looks fantastic. The colors and textures were chosen by the interior designers for a rich look & feel.

Our clients instructed us to design a sauna that would run at higher temperatures for extended periods of time and with lots of water going into the heater. So we made this entire sauna out of the heavy-duty bench timber and it came out looking fantastic.

The brief for this project was to have an open-to-air spa that complements the pool. The architects designed the pool with sliding doors on three sides and with a timber deck around the pool to merge it with the garden when the doors are open.

This semi-commercial steam room is installed within a leisure gym complex in the basement of a block of luxury flats and serves a total of up to 48 families during peak hours, served by a 15kW three-phase electric steam generator it has not given a chance to complain in the last four years it has been operational.

Designed for a bather load of up to 6 in a commercial setting, this sauna is finished in our standard aspen panels complete with split-face slate tiles so as not to break the bank but still look decent. The 18kW three-phase heater does the job brilliantly.

Designed and built for occasional use, the client brief was to keep the standard of the material reasonable and to keep the budget realistic. This sauna is made out of ASPEN square-cut cladding and ASPEN 90 mm standard bench timber. One single LED strip lights up the entire sauna and does the trick.
